Suspect believed to be involved in multi-county robbery spree arrested by U.S. Marshals

MIAMI VALLEY — A man police believe was involved in multiple robberies throughout the Miami Valley was arrested in Englewood Friday by U.S. Marshals, according to Franklin Police.

Da’Sean McCleskey, 21, of Englewood, was taken into custody at his apartment after a warrant was issued Thursday for his arrest.

McCleskey is charged with aggravated robbed in connection to three robberies in the city of Franklin and investigators also are considering him a suspect in armed robberies in Moraine, Huber Heights, Riverside and Beavercreek, Franklin Police said.

Franklin Police Chief Adam Colon said Det. David Hatfield was able to identify the suspect prior to Thursday’s charges being approved.

The robberies in Franklin happened on the following dates:

  • Shell, 6651 N. State Route 123 on Dec. 12
  • Sunoco, 6900 N. State Route 123 on Dec. 19
  • Marathon, 1111 William C. Good Blvd. on Jan. 2

Colon said the most recent offense McCleskey is believed to be involved with happened in Beavercreek on Wednesday.

Riverside police said McCleskey is a suspect in the robbery at Sammy’s at 1290 Woodman Drive on Wednesday.

Huber Heights police said they believe McCleskey is connected to a robbery at the BP at 7888 Old Troy Pike on Jan. 11. During that robbery a male came in the store in a blue shirt and wearing a mask, when he showed a gun and took all the money from the business and ran off, said Huber Heights Police Sgt. Brian Carr.

No charges have been filed at this time against McCleskey in relation to the other armed robberies police said he is currently suspected in outside of Franklin, according to online court records.
