JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — Detectives are investigating after someone fired shots into a vehicle, hitting one person in Jefferson Twp. on Tuesday.

Montgomery County deputies were called out to the area of Fortman Drive and Hackett Drive around 5:46 a.m. on reports of a shooting on Tuesday.

When they got to the scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg in a crashed car.
“My grandson got shot,” a woman told dispatchers in a 911 call obtained by News Center 7.
“Oh my god, I’m shot,” a man can be heard saying in the background of the call.
An investigation showed that a suspect vehicle was following the victim’s vehicle and fired shots at the three occupants inside it, according to a spokesperson for the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Only one of the three occupants was hit.
The man was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
No one has been taken into custody at this time.
The case is under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Detectives.
