MONTGOMERY COUNTY — A man arrested following a crash on North Dixie Drive just moments after Huber Heights Police stopping chasing a stolen SUV has been in prison multiple times the last decade, according to court and prison records.
Ryan C. Jones, 29, was booked into jail after getting out of the hospital following the crash Thursday. He was wanted by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction’s Adult Parole Authority for violating the conditions of his parole, according to online prison records.
He’s also charged with failure to comply, weapons under disability, receiving stolen property, vehicular assault and aggravated menacing related to Thursday’s pursuit and crash.

The crash was reported around 8:45 a.m. in the area of North Dixie and Republic drives. A nearby laundromat was hit by one of the vehicles involved in the crash.
New cruiser camera footage obtained through a public records request show the Huber Heights officer initially involved in the chase rolling up to the crash scene and officers from multiple agencies surrounded the stolen SUV to take Jones into custody.
The stolen vehicle was taken in New Carlisle and the boyfriend of the victim ended up following the stolen car before calling 911, according to police and 911 calls obtained by News Center 7.
The boyfriend of the victim called police after seeing the stolen SUV in the area of Fishburg Road and Old Troy Pike. That’s where the suspect was accused of pointing a gun at the victim, Carr said.

Huber Heights police ended up spotting the stolen SUV in the area of Rip Rap and Wagner Ford roads.
“This was an aggravated robbery and we have the propensity of violence. A gun was already pointed at somebody and the individual was fleeing actively from police,” Carr said.
Police called off the chase in the area of Needmore Road and North Dixie about a minute before the crash was reported, according to emergency dispatch traffic.
Carr said officers stopped chasing the stolen SUV, because they were going into a school zone and roads were wet from the rain.
A gun that matched the description of what the victim said was pointed at him was found inside the SUV and was determined to be stolen out of Columbus, police said.
A News Center 7 investigation found Jones has been in prison twice since 2012 for violent crimes he committed in Montgomery County. In 2012, Jones was sentenced to six years in prison for felonious assault.
In October 2018, Jones and another man robbed someone in Dayton using a gun. Jones ended up hiding in a house on Johnsville-Brookville Road, where SWAT officers ended up taking him into custody. A judge sentenced him to three years in prison for that crime and he got out of prison in October, according to prison records.
