MIAMISBURG — UPDATE @ 8:55 a.m. (Dec. 20):
The man arrested on suspicion of stealing packages from a home on Lawrence Avenue has been identified by jail records.
William Alcorn, 31, of Miamisburg, was arrested in the 400 block of Lawrence Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of theft and possession of drug abuse instruments.
INITIAL REPORTS:
A man suspected of stealing packages from a home on Lawrence Avenue in Miamisburg was arrested after police found him in possession of the packages and other items, according to Miamisburg Sgt. Jeff Muncy.
“It appears that’s what he was doing,” Muncy said.

Officers responded to the area after receiving a call from a citizen reporting the suspicious activity and when police arrived the suspect was carrying a trash can full of clothing and the packages from a house down the street, Muncy said.
The call was made around 2:45 p.m.
Muncy also said the suspect had a half-empty bottle of vodka and suspected heroin needles in him possession.
Officers said they are familiar with the suspect, but his identity has not been released.
