RIVERSIDE — A woman was cited for OVI after police said she crashed into the Mad River Early Childhood Center and left the scene Tuesday night.
Officers responded around 9 p.m. to Wendy’s on Airway Road after receiving a report of a woman asking for help at the restaurant, according to a Riverside incident report.
The woman, later identified as Lisa Knisley, told police she wasn’t sure how she ended up at the restaurant. About two hours later, police found Knisley’s SUV crashed into the side of the Mad River Early Childhood Center, 805 Old Harshman Road.
The SUV plowed through the brick wall and damaged several windows and a water pipe, police said.
Police said Knisley smelled like an alcoholic drink at the Wendy’s when they met with her initially.
After taking Knisley to Soin Medical Center, they questioned her further, the incident report read.
Knisley told police she had “smoked a small amount of marijuana and had two ‘crown and cokes’” earlier in the afternoon around 3:30 p.m. and didn’t remember anything after that, the report read.
Knisley is expected to be in court on Oct. 15 to face a citation of OVI and failure to control.
