Road Rage

HUBER HEIGHTS — A pickup truck was shot multiple times Friday afternoon during a road rage incident on Interstate 70, and now troopers are asking for the public’s help to find the shooter.

The incident began just before 3:30 p.m. on state Route 202 and involved a dark-colored sedan that followed a blue Honda Ridgeline onto I-70 West, said Sgt. Dallas Root of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Dayton Post.

“The victim had moved into the middle lane and the suspect moved to the right of the victim and fired three or four shots, striking the vehicle,” Root said.

The 24-year-old Honda driver and his passenger, also a young man, were not hit by bullets that lodged in the vehicle’s doors. However, they were cut by glass, the sergeant said.

After the shots were fired, the Honda driver followed the sedan, which only was occupied by its driver. The Honda finally stopped on I-75 off U.S. 40, according to the patrol.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call the OSP at 937-832-4794.
