Man hospitalized after shooting in Harrison Twp. in dispute between neighbors

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — Correction: A previous version of this story stated that SWAT was on the scene of the reported shooting. This was incorrect, a SWAT crew was seen in the area but has not been reported where the reported shooting took place.

A man is hospitalized after a shooting in Harrison Township between neighbors.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and medics were dispatched at 2:02 p.m. to the 4000 block of Otis Drive to reports of a shooting involving neighbors, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

When deputies arrived, they found a man injured from the shooting, and medics transported the victim to Kettering Health Dayton.

His condition is not known at this time.

Detectives took another man in for questioning, according to the Montgomery Sheriff’s Office.

News Center 7 got a hold of 911 calls through a records request.

“He was just painting the side of his house and he got into an argument with the neighbor,” a male caller told dispatchers. “I told my wife this is not going to be good and the next thing I heard; pow, pow, pow, pow.”

“How many shots did you hear?” the dispatcher asked.

“At least 10,” answered the caller.

The shooting remains under investigation.
