XENIA — The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted businesses across the country, making some have to close their doors, but Glazed Donuts and Eatery in Xenia is succeeding despite these challenges.

Clay Fillinger, a former firefighter, opened his business five months ago and said he is thankful for the support from the community and other local businesses.

Fillinger told News Center 7′s Gabrielle Enright that surviving the pandemic is about being adaptable and mixing things up.

Glazed Donuts isn’t immune to supply chain or employee issues, Fillinger said, but he adapts by changing his menu and occasionally his schedule.

“I’m lucky to have a gang of employees that want to work and love their jobs,” Fillinger said but admits he does have challenges finding employees, especially as many go back to school.

Glazed Donuts’ hours and menu are available on their website.
