2 taken to the hospital after Darke County rollover crash on SR 121

Two people were taken to the hospital with injuries Friday afternoon after a crash in the area of state Route 121 and Billman Road.

A 2008 Chevrolet Uplander, driven by Rodney Boone, 60, of Union City, was traveling east on SR 121 near Billman Road when he lost control, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a guard rail, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. After striking the guard rail, his car overturned before coming to rest on its top.

Boone was transported to Wayne ER by Arcanum Rescue and his passenger, Scheila Boone, 57, of Union City, was extricated by New Madison Fire Department and transported to Miami Valley Hospital by MedFlight.

Darke County deputies along with Tri-Village Rescue, Arcanum Rescue, New Madison Fire Department and MedFlight all responded to the incident that remains under investigation.
