UPDATE: Electric repairs complete, power restored after city-wide outage in Tipp City

TIPP CITY — UPDATE @ 2:05 p.m.:

Electric service is returning to Tipp City residents following a city-wide outage that was caused by repairs being made to the system, according to a city spokesperson.

“DP&L has made their repairs and we are bringing up all of our substations one at a time. Power is being restored as we speak,” the city spokesperson said in a new message posted to social media.


UPDATE @ 1:35 p.m.:

A temporary power outage that was originally scheduled for 30 minutes, continues in Tipp City while crews make repairs, a city spokesperson said in messages posted to social media.

The outage started around 11:30 a.m. but repairs are “taking longer than anticipated,” the spokesperson said.

Tipp City will enact a temporary, city-wide power outage Thursday after investigating an issue that impacted where the city receives power, according to a city spokesperson.

The outage will start at 11:30 a.m. and is expected to last up to 30 minutes.

Earlier this morning, a city spokesperson said crews were investigating a “potential electrical issue impacting the source of where Tipp City receives our power,” the spokesperson said in messages posted to social media.

Drivers were reminded to treat intersections with traffic lights as four-way stops during the power outage. Temporary stop signs had been placed at some intersections ahead of the outage.
