Demian said on social media Saturday that he was discharged on Dec. 24 and returned home on Friday.
He said the journey has not been easy.
“1 bullet. 3 surgeries, with 1 taking 10 hours. 2.5 weeks in the hospital with most in ICU. Almost died from the shot. Almost died on the operating table. Almost died from a post-surgery GI bleed. I shouldn’t be here anymore but God remained faithful,” he said.
Demian said on his Instagram page that doctors had said he would have to feed through a tube and have an ostomy bag for the rest of his life, but “God had other plans.”
He thanked the doctors, nurses, and medical staff who worked and gave him a “2nd chance at life.”
“Thank you to all my family and friends who stayed with me in the hospital during the most difficult time in my life. Thank you, God, for performing multiple miracles when the odds were heavily stacked against me,” Demian concluded.
