If you use Uber or Lyft, you are probably in the habit of rating your drivers, but did you know they are rating you too? Your rating as a passenger can affect your ability to keep requesting rides.
While neither company has a specific rating threshold that gets you banned, there are things you do that could lead to a bad rating or being banned:
- Problem behavior generally includes: smoking, drinking, abusive language, assault, damage to the vehicle, getting sick in the car, leaving trash in the car, bad attitude and not leaving a tip.
- Excessive cancellations after two minutes of the request.
- Having sex with a driver or another rider: even if consensual, Uber will ban riders and drivers if they can confirm that sex happened. No inappropriate touching or flirting is allowed either.
- Contacting the driver after the ride: riders are forbidden to text, visit or contact a driver in any way after a ride.
- Breaking the law or asking your driver to break the law: no open containers of alcohol or drugs. And no asking your driver to speed or park illegally.
