LOGAN COUNTY — The third person accused of looting following the deadly tornado that hit Logan County last year has been sentenced to prison.

Brandy Durnell was sentenced last week to 5 to 7.5 years in prison. She was previously convicted of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and seven counts of breaking and entering, according to a release from the county.

Durnell, along with Jeffrey Rivers and Edward Langley, were accused of thefts that happened after the tornado that hit Lakeview in March 2024.
They were also accused of thefts from storage facilities before the tornado.
A pre-sentence investigation report showed that Durnell sold stolen items in yard sales and on Facebook Marketplace.
Rivers and Langley were both previously sentenced to 5 to 7.5 years in prison.
“You actively participated in a criminal business that victimized innocent people who were already victims of a natural disaster,” Common Pleas Judge Kevin P. Braig said. “Your conduct was calculated and predatory.”
