MIAMI VALLEY — Thousands of people are without across the Miami Valley.

As reported on News Center 7 Daybreak, AES Ohio spokesperson Mary Ann Kabel provided an update on power restoration and the challenges crews were facing.

Wind gusts between 50-60 mph were reported across the area.
“The winds were very, very strong,” she said. “When the winds are that high, it causes damage to our equipment. This includes downed power lines, the debris that could be blowing that causes damage to our area.”
As of 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, approximately 3,585 customers are without power around the Miami Valley.
AES Ohio’s website reports that approximately 2,246 customers do not have power at 8:23 a.m.

- Champaign: 1
- Clinton: 3
- Darke: 1910
- Greene: 176
- Logan: 11
- Miami: 859
- Montgomery: 619
- Preble: 3
Duke Energy reports 215 active outages in Butler and Warren counties.
- Butler: 214
- Warren: 1
Ohio Edison is reporting that 186 customers in Clark County are without power.
