The Powerball jackpot is worth $1.2 billion.

News Center 7′s Kayla McDermott says residents can notice a number of lottery signs any gas station. The Powerball sign has no numbers on it and is flashing red because it does not go that high.

The last drawing was on Monday, Halloween night, and there was no winner. The search is still on for the winning numbers.

McDermott reports it is the second largest jackpot in Powerball history and the fourth largest jackpot in U.S. history.

Several told Kayla they will be watching the numbers called off tonight and what they would spends their billions on.

“I’d buy a nice house, a nice 48-foot sailboat,” said Bob Palofcy of Oakwood.

“Probably a car first, and then trip after that,” UD student Matt Donaldson told McDermott.

If you do win, you would have two options: either take one payment of all the money or 30 graduated payments over 29 years.

McDermott says you don’t actually received $1.2 billion as a whole. After taxes, over $500,000 here in Ohio is taken out of your winnings, leaving you with $500 million.

“That’s more than enough,” Palofcy said.

“Good enough,” said Donaldson. “Yeah, just half a billion.”

You can get tonight’s Powerball numbers by watching WHIO TV Tonight at 11 p.m. here on Channel 7.
