FRANKLIN COUNTY, IN — An injured hawk was rescued along an interstate by a state trooper and sheriff’s deputy Tuesday night.

Indiana State Police Trooper Kyle Stovall and Ripley County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Hunger caught the hawk that was along Interstate 74 in Franklin County, Indiana, according to a Twitter post from Indiana State Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.
Yesterday evening, Trooper Kyle Stovall located an injured hawk along I-74 in Franklin County. He and Dep. Adam Hunger, Ripley County SD, caught the hawk and transported it to Red Wolf Sanctuary in Ohio County for rehabilitation.

The officers took the hawk to Red Wolf Sanctuary in Ohio County for rehabilitation.
It was then taken to a veterinarian for examination and x-rays, according to a spokesperson for Red Wolf Sanctuary.

Red Wolf Sanctuary is a non-profit organization that works to preserve and continue existence of North American wildlife, according to the organization’s Facebook page.
