2-year-old seriously hurt after being hit by ATV in Clark County

CLARK COUNTY — A 2-year-old is seriously injured after being hit by an ATV in Clark County Monday afternoon, according to a spokesperson with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Clark County Sheriff’s deputies and medics were called to the 2700 block of Dale Avenue in Springfield Township on reports of a crash after 5 p.m.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatcher said troopers were later called to the scene.

A preliminary investigation found that a 19-year-old was driving a 2018 Kawaski ATV on Dale Avenue at the time of the crash.

The spokesperson said the two-year-old crossed Dale Avenue and was hit by the ATV.

The child was flown to Dayton Children’s Hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the OSHP Springfield Post.
