Fight at Trotwood church during homicide victim’s funeral prompts large police response

TROTWOOD — A fight inside a church during a funeral for a homicide victim led to Trotwood offices asking for extra patrols to respond from across the county.

Trotwood police were notified there could be problems during funeral services today at Great Green Missionary Baptist Church, said Trotwood police. Two uniformed officers were at the church on Olive Road when a fight between two family members started. As the fight happened, the officers saw a large group running from the church and dropped the county-wide call for assistance.

The fight happened around 11 a.m. as the funeral for Brandon Harris was beginning. Harris was killed in a shooting outside RSVP Ultra Lounge on North Union Road in Clayton last month.
