Troy holds Strawberry Jam a ‘small, community celebration’ in lieu of Strawberry Festival

TROY — The 2021 Troy Strawberry Festival was cancelled April 1, but in its place is a “small, community celebration,” known as the Strawberry Jam this weekend.

The decision was made after Gov. DeWine had released simplified health orders April 5.

The Strawberry Jam kicked off on Friday, June 4 and will continue Saturday, June 5, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The board said this small, community celebration will require less monetary and human resources.

“It was the intent of the board to have some type of event that weekend,” said Linda Roth, board chairwoman.

Food and music will be at the Strawberry Jam celebration, and organizers encourage people to shop in Troy’s downtown boutiques and shops.

“To clarify, this is a smaller, different event. It is NOT the Troy Strawberry Festival. The full festival will return in 2022. More details on the Strawberry Jam will be released as they become available,” the board stated.
