SPRINGFIELD — UPDATED @ 4:30 p.m.:
Springfield police on scene told News Center 7 that the driver of the commercial truck was flown to an area hospital after a single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.
Dale Underwood, of Enon, said he was going to lunch when his co-worker heard a loud boom.
“When I ran out, I [saw] the truck go up and hit the trees,” Underwood said.
Underwood said the driver hit a dip and a pole before flipping the truck.
He said that he and another man rushed to help the driver. Underwood said he tried to hold to driver down because he was trying to get out.
The driver’s condition is unknown.

INITIAL REPORT:
A commercial truck is flipped and a medical helicopter was called after a crash in the area of Pleasant Street and Dayton Avenue Thursday, Springfield Police said.
The crash was reported just before noon at the intersection.

Details on how many people were hurt or if any other vehicles were involved in the crash were not immediately available.
Emergency dispatch traffic indicated that police were restricting traffic in the area due to the crash.
The crash was reported to have damaged a utility pole in the area, according to police.
