Police: 2 injured, 1 flown to area hospital after shooting in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD — Detectives are investigating what led up to a shooting that sent two people to area hospitals, including one person who was flown by CareFlight, according to Springfield police.

Dispatchers said officers and medics were called to the area of Clifton Avenue and Rice Street around 1:20 a.m. after the shooting was reported.

The two victims were transported to separate hospitals with one of them being flown to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by a CareFlight medical helicopter.

The conditions and severity of injuries the two victims sustained were not available.
