People in the United States who are reading and watching coverage of the war between Ukraine and Russia may be wondering how they can help people who are caught in the middle of the attack in Ukraine.

Several organizations have begun offering ways for people to help the citizens of Ukraine.

As with any online donating effort, people should check that the organization is legitimate as scams will pop up in times of tragedy. It’s a good idea to always do some research on the organization.

Here is a list of nonprofit organizations Charity Navigator has rated based on their financial transparency and the money they spend on fundraisers. It also looks at how much money the organization spends on those it’s supposed to benefit.

>> Ukrainian Society of Greater Cincinnati and Dayton - The Ukrainian Society of Greater Cincinnati & Dayton was founded in 1984 as a non-profit organization. We are here to bring people together in this area.

>> Ukrainian Cultural Association of Central Ohio - Since the first attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022, more than 3 million Ukrainians, mostly women and children, have fled the country to safety, and the number grows every day.

>> International Committee of the Red Cross - works toward helping people affected by the invasion and is supporting the efforts of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

>> Nova Ukraine - is a 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization that delivers humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

>> People of Ukraine - is a U.S.-based foundation that seeks to aid families affected by the attacks.

>> Revived Soldiers Ukraine - is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. According to its website, the organization provides medical aid and sustainable living standards to soldiers of Ukraine and their families.

>> Razom for Ukraine - is a nonprofit organization that supports the people of Ukraine in their pursuit of a democratic society

>> Support Hospitals in Ukraine - sends modern medical equipment and supplies from the U.S.

>> United Help Ukraine, Inc. - is a nonprofit charitable organization receiving and distributing donations, food and medical supplies to Ukrainian IDPs (internally displaced people)

>> Voices of Children - helps children affected by the war in eastern Ukraine.

>> International Rescue Committee - helps families in conflict zones around the world, including Ukraine.
