The shirts say “United for 9″, representing the number Anderson wore on the soccer field.

“Kayla really believed in our teammates and our community, and community service, so we tried to pick a title that would represent what she believed in and what her and her family cared about, we’re trying to unite around the tragedy to make as positive as it can,” Jordan Shumaker, Vandalia-Butler Athletic Director said.

Shumaker added each shirt will raise about $10 for the fund.

People can buy them at all sporting events and the school buildings all week.

Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly identified Jordan Shumaker as the district’s superintendent. Shumaker is the district’s athletic director. Additionally, this story also incorrectly identified the school district as the organizer of the fundraiser. The scholarship fund was the organizer and all funds raised will go directly to the scholarship fund.
