Driver killed in Jefferson Twp. crash identified

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP — A man is dead after a crash in Jefferson Township Tuesday afternoon.

Jammy Weaver, 50, of Jefferson Twp., was identified as the driver that died in the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Just after 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jefferson Township deputies were called to the 7600 block of Dayton Liberty Road to reports of an injury crash.

When deputies got on the scene they found that a red truck hit an AES pole head-on.

An initial investigation found that the truck was traveling westbound on Dayton Liberty Road when it crossed over the center line and into the eastbound lane, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck then went off the roadway and hit an AES pole and then a tree.

Weaver was pronounced dead on the scene.
