BEAVERCREEK — Construction is underway for a new addition to U.S. 35 in Greene County.
The U.S. 35 Superstreet is a project with the goal to decrease congestion, cut down on delays, limit collision opportunities, and, in turn, improve safety.
The project is focused on changing traffic patterns at the Factory Road and Orchard Lane intersections.
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is constructing a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) intersection.

Contractors for ODOT are working to install new signs and signal poles at the new median crossovers, also know as loons.
Once the loons are open to traffic, the left turn and thru-intersection from Factory Road and Orchard Lane going onto U.S. 35 will be eliminated.
The RCUT intersection is expected to be open to traffic in mid to late October, with the Superstreet project being fully configured by November.

A contract was awarded to the John R. Jurgensen Company for approximately $14.9 million to build the project.
