1 seriously injured after semi hits truck on US-35 West near Trebein Rd

BEAVERCREEK — Crews were out on U.S. Route 35 West for hours cleaning up the aftermath of a semi-trailer crashed into a truck.

The Dayton post of Ohio State Highway Patrol told us that crews were called to the crash on US-35 Westbound near Trebein Road around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

A driver of a Freightliner, identified as Ahmed Yarrow, 34, of Minnesota was traveling westbound on US-35 when he failed to yield at the intersection of Trebein Road, striking a truck, according to a release by OSP.

The truck was driven by Michael Davis, 22, of Fairborn.

Davis was ejected from his car and taken to Miami Valley Hospital, a sergeant on the scene of the crash told us his injuries were serious but non-life-threatening.

He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the release.

Yarrow was taken to Soin Medical Center by medics.

The semi-truck jackknifed during the crash, according to crews on scene.

Crews were on scene from the time of the crash until just after 5 a.m. cleaning up fluids from the crash as well as trying to move the semi from the roadway, according to the sergeant.

During this time the westbound lanes of US-35 were closed.

Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Beavercreek Township Fire assisted on scene.
