U.S. House Speaker talks national security during visit at Wright Patterson Air Force Base

W.P.A.F.B. — The U.S. House Speaker was in the Miami Valley Wednesday.

Speaker Kevin McCarthy visited Wright Patterson Air Force Base with Dayton-area Congressman Mike Turner and talked about national security.

“This is a place to make sure America’s safe for the future,” said Speaker McCarthy. “There’s a lot of things that happen here that I know those who work here can’t talk about. But the one thing can say to you is thank you.”

U.S. Rep Brad Wenstrup from Ohio’s second district was among the Ohio delegation with Speaker McCarthy.

Rep. Turner said it was an honor to have both Speaker McCarthy and Wenstrup in Dayton to tour W.P.A.F.B.

This was McCarthy’s third visit to W.P.A.F.B., his first as House Speaker.
