BUTLER TWP. — A Vandalia boy is using his internet fame to make sure other kids have a nice Christmas.

Dylan Suiter, of Vandalia, went viral in November after a doorbell camera caught him leaving some of his own candy in a empty bowl for other kids to take while trick-or-treating.

Now the 9-year-old is help other kids this holiday season.

In Butler Twp., Dylan has filled his grandmother’s house with presents for kids he has never met.

“I didn’t want everyone not to have a Christmas without a gift,” Dylan told News Center 7′s Molly Koweek.

His desire to help started with strangers wanting to give him gifts. Sarah Suiter, Dylan’s mom, said a user of the social media app TikTok saw Dylan’s video and asked for a wish list for Dylan.

“He had followers that wanted to send him something, thanking him for his good deed,” Sarah Suiter said.

The followers went through the Amazon wish list fast and asked for more to be added. Dylan added more items, but the new additions were not for him. They were for families on the giving tree at his church and for kids at a Dayton woman’s shelter.

“I don’t want them to just go home and have nothing,” Dylan said.

Sarah Suiter said between gift cards and toys, people have already sent in more than 500 presents.

So while St. Nick might have a few centuries of worldwide gift giving experience on Dylan, the 9-year-old is gaining ground here in the Miami Valley.
