Vehicle catches fire inside Jefferson Twp. business

UPDATE @7:30 a.m.

A man was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation after he put our a vehicle fire with a garden hose.

Officials said the fire was minor and put out quickly.

West Third Street was closed for a brief time as crews responded to the fire.

UPDATE @ 6:45 a.m.

Deputies in the area have blocked off eastbound West Third Street at U.S. 35 due to the fire investigation.

FIRST REPORT

Firefighters in Jefferson Township have responded to reports of a vehicle fire inside an auto repair shop Wednesday morning.

Crews were dispatched to the 5700 block of West Third Street around 6:15 a.m. after a vehicle reportedly caught fire inside the shop.

Initial reports indicate the fire was knocked down quickly and medics were requested for one person who suffered smoke inhalation.
