Medical emergency blamed for crash that sent vehicle into Washington Twp. business

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP — A vehicle crashed into a store on the 600 block of Lyons Road around 1:15 p.m Thursday.

There is significant damage to to the Antique Village building, which includes a large hole in the structure.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s office, the driver of a Honda Pilot traveled north from the Sam’s Club lot, crossed Lyons Road, entered the Washington Square parking lot, continued north across the lot and struck the building, resulting in the vehicle landing on the driver’s side.

The driver was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The employees who witnessed the crash were sent home for safety reasons.

A contractor and structural engineer were sent to the scene to determine the safety of the building, and working on securing the building now.

The business is currently closed until further notice.

The accident still remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
