MIAMI TOWNSHIP — Police and medics were called to respond after a vehicle crashed into a Miami Township restaurant.
Dispatchers confirmed with News Center 7 that crews were called to the Roosters located at 9400 North Springboro Pike. The crash was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m., according to initial reports.

Jim and Jane Weiss were with about 20 members of a church group when the driver of the car lost control and smashed into the window right next to them.
“So all of a sudden, it’s like a little bomb,” said Jim Weiss.
“Felt like an explosion, then realized it was a car,” Jane Weiss said.

State troopers say the female driver of the car came off the northbound lanes of 741 several hundred feet from Roosters.
She plowed through grass, tore through trees, ran over benches, and smashed into the building. She damaged her car more than the restaurant.
Witnesses said she was a younger adult, alone in the car, and appeared to be unconscious for several moments before being revived and going to the hospital.
Chelsea Barres, the general manager, said it was scary but they’re focusing on the good news.
“Just that we’re thankful she is ok and again all this is cosmetic, the guests are ok, the employees are ok,” Barres said.
We are working to learn the cause of the crash and will continue updating this story.
