Vehicle crashes near Westville Post Office in Champaign County

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY — A vehicle reportedly struck a pole near the Westville Post Office Sunday morning.

A deputy was on scene investigating the incident, according to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.

A News Center 7 viewer reported that a snowplow was driving west on U.S. 36 when the brakes locked up and the driver struck a pole flipping the vehicle over and sliding into an overhang attached to the post office.

Photos contributed by the I-Witness 7 viewer show a truck on its side under what appears to be the overhang of the post office building.

Dispatchers say they are unsure of reported injuries but no medics have been requested to the scene.
