NEW DETAILS: Naked man spotted running near Island MetroPark, stolen truck found in river moments later

DAYTON — A stolen truck was found in the river near Island MetroPark, a short time after two callers reported a man running naked in the area, according to dispatch records.

Five Rivers MetroParks rangers said it was too early to determine whether the abandoned truck is connected to the naked man. However, both were discovered in the same area within 10 minutes of each other.

“I need somebody here quick. He’s bleeding from the neck and he’s in the back of my truck,” a MetroParks worker told emergency dispatchers around 11:30 a.m. Monday.

An incident report indicated the abandoned truck was running and there were footprints leading from the truck to where the worker spotted the naked man.

The truck was reported stolen out of Dayton, a report showed.

Another caller reported the naked man running down the street near the park.

“I just seen a man running down Helena toward Riverside, butt ... naked,” the caller said. “He’ll probably freeze to death if nothing else.”

The man was transported to the Grandview Medical Center for evalutation, however his condition was not immediately known.
