Car reported stolen shortly before it slams into Jefferson Twp. house

JEFFERSON TWP., Montgomery County — UPDATE @ 3:36 p.m.:

The vehicle that crashed into the a Jefferson Twp. home this morning was reported stolen shortly before the incident, according to a Dayton police report.

The tan Saturn was stolen around 10:15 a.m. today from  a Germantown Pike gas station.

The victim went to pay for gas and left they keys in his car when the suspect took off in it, according to the report.

Less than an hour later, the vehicle struck a Liscum Drive home.

UPDATE @ 11:45 a.m.:

A home was significantly damaged after a vehicle struck it on Liscum Drive in Jefferson Twp. this morning.

The vehicle entered the house approximately 3 to 4 feet and the Montgomery County Engineer’s Office is going to evaluate the structure to determine whether it can be inhabited, said Batallion Chief Chad McInturff of the Jefferson Twp. Fire Department.

The homeowners were not home and there were no injuries to car’s occupants, McInturff said.

The crash was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of Liscum.

Firefighters were initially unaware whether anyone was inside when they first arrived and forced entry into the house. While inside, McInturff said some firefighters were cornered by a dog and had to bust out a window to escape.

The homeowners did not have insurance, he said.

UPDATE @ 11:12 a.m.:

A car crashed into a home on Liscum Drive this morning, causing significant damage to at least one wall of the house.

Deputies and emergency crews responded around 10:30 a.m. to the house in the 1300 block of Liscum Drive.

The vehicle struck the house just under a window.
