Vehicles leave Dayton residence at high speed after gunshots fired

Neighbors said they heard several gunshots coming from a Dayton residence early Saturday morning, according to a police report.

When crews arrived at the home in the 500 block of Gramont Avenue, several different vehicles were reportedly seen leaving the area at high speed.

Officers tried making contact at the residence, but there was no answer, the report stated. Shell casings were found and bullet entry holes were seen in and around the residence.

Neighbors told police they heard a large number of gunshots from two different types of guns and several people left the area following the incident.

A sergeant determined it was necessary to breach the front entrance to ensure the safety of any occupants inside. They were able to force entry, but after clearing the house, it was determined to be unoccupied, the report stated.
