Vehicles ransacked at Dayton auto parts store

Police in Dayton are investigating after someone cut a hole in the privacy gate and broke into vehicles at KOI Auto Parts, 1654 Springfield St.

The break-in was reported at 8 a.m. this morning when the store manager arrived to open for business, according to the Dayton police report.

The fence to get into the property had been cut and at least 10 vehicles — all recent model Ford and Chevy cars and trucks — were ransacked and property was stolen, including car chargers and a miniature dolly, according to the report.

The manager told police the break-in must have happened sometime after closing Saturday evening.
