Claude Page Jr., affectionately known as Quawen, was shot to death and found by police Thursday.
“It took a lot for everybody to actually come to this spot where they found my little cousin, but it was something that some of the family members felt we needed to do,” Page’s cousin Robin Mobley said.
Loved ones told News Center 7′s Malik Patterson that Page had a bright and loving personality.
“He was very kind, very loving,” Mobley said. “As you heard several people speak, in regards to my little cousin, he would give his shirt off his back.”
There are lots of questions surrounding Page’s death, and his family wants answers.
“We want to find out what happened, and so we have to wait until they tell us,” Mobley said.
Investigators have called Page’s death suspicious, but they are still determining if this is a homicide.
The Page family emphasized the importance of mental health.
“We’re not sure if it’s a homicide or if it was suicide, but we spoke about mental illness,” Mobley said. “Mental illness is very important, and it’s something that needs to be addressed in our community.”
The family is working to make it through this holiday season, and they continue to remind each other it’s okay to laugh and share happy moments.
“Laughter is good for the soul, but that doesn’t mean we’re not hurting,” Mobley said.
News Center 7 will continue to work to get answers from the sheriff’s office about how Page died.
