VIDEO: Dayton man torches truck using gas, wanted by police

DAYTON — A Dayton man is wanted for failing to show up for sentencing after he set a man’s pickup truck on fire and shot at his house earlier this year.

Jordan Gay, 28, was released from jail on electronic home detention after posting bond. He entered into a plea agreement on charges of arson and firing a weapon into a house. He did not show up for his sentencing on Dec. 3.

The fire and shooting happened outside a house in the 1800 block of Kammer Avenue around 5:30 a.m. March 7.

Surveillance released Thursday shows Gay approach the pickup truck and douse it in gasoline.  Gay then sets a piece of paper on fire and torches the pickup.

Gay shot toward the victim while the victim pulled the burning truck out of the driveway and away from the house.

Police now suspect Gay is involved in another crime since failing to appear for sentencing.

“This month, he became the suspect of a vandalism where he kicked in the front door of his ex-girlfriend’s house and was seen outside holding a handgun,” Miami Valley Crime Stoppers said in a prepared statement.

Anyone who knows where Gay may be is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 937-222-STOP.
