When officers arrived on scene, they didn’t see anything obvious but heard the alarm going off.

“The dude could be someone I know, I don’t, you know, or a customer, former customer, or whatever, I just don’t, I have no idea. I have no clue,” Anthony Hess said.

Hess co-owns All New Dixie Coin & Jewelry. He woke up to dozens of missed calls from Moraine police and the security company.

“I start going through footage and I realized like actually, somebody had broken into my shop and I’m like ‘Oh sweet,’ Hess said.

Hess reviewed the security footage and saw a thief using a flashlight to look around the shop’s basement.

He was wearing a full facemask, and gloves, and had a backpack on.

Hess said the man broke in through a basement window.

Police said the thief took three rifles but left others on the counter.

“It’s not something you would want somebody to have out on the street. That’s breaking the law,” Hess said. “I really would be curious to see if, like, anybody that lives around my shop has any like Ring camera footage or any security camera footage of somebody fitting his description walking through neighborhoods.”

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call the Moraine Police Department.
