The WHIO Breaking News Team received three calls yesterday from people who wanted WHIO to investigate suspicious phone calls involving Social Security numbers.
The callers into our newsroom said they received calls or voicemails stating their Social Security numbers had either been compromised or were “bad.”
News Center 7 consumer reporter Rachel Murray was able to talk with one of the viewers who had a voicemail left on here phone.
“I listened to it and I was shocked it,” said Barbara Mosher of Huber Heights.
Thankfully our tipsters did not lose any money or give any personal information to the scam artists.
The Social Security Administration says their office will never call you or email you requesting personal information or money.
