Volunteers have starting working Sunday morning to prepare and make Ohio’s ‘best trail’ even better for the 19th Annual Bike Ride on the Simon Kenton Bike Trail, according to a release.
Volunteers are painting and setting up signs along the trail in preparations for the bike ride on Sunday, Sep. 9 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. These preparations will continue throughout the rest of this week.
Bicyclists, walkers, runners and roller-bladers are all invited to enjoy the bike trail and to help pave several more miles. The 32-mile trail, which runs through Champaign, Clark and Logan counties, was voted Ohio’s best bike trail by “Ohio Magazine” readers in 2018, the release stated.

All proceeds will support trail maintenance and the chip-seal paving project of the trail from Route 296 north to as far as the funds can go, possibly to Township Road 199 in Logan County.
Every dollar raised by the ride will be doubled by Honda of America Foundation. Honda will match dollar-for-dollar, up to $25,000, what Simon Kenton Pathfinders raise from donations and fundraisers by Nov. 30, the release stated.
The bike ride on Sunday, Sep. 9, is family-friendly with three different ride lengths: Metric Century, Metric Half Century, or 15-Mile Fun Ride.
