Xenia woman accused in shooting arrested

XENIA — UPDATE @ 2:40 p.m. (May 14):

A woman who police have identified as the suspected shooting in a May 5 shooting on Franklin Avenue has turned herself in.

Talicia Dixon, 27, is charged with felonious assault.

Police said the victim in the shooting, Andre Nooks, is still recovering at Miami Valley Hospital.

INITIAL REPORT (May 5):

A warrant has been issued for a Xenia woman suspected of shooting a man in the neck after an argument early Saturday morning, according to police.

Police and medics were called to the 400 block of Franklin Avenue in Xenia around 1:25 a.m. after the shooting was reported. The victim, identified as Andre Nooks, was shot in the neck following an argument involving several people, Xenia police said in a media release Monday.

Nooks was transported to Miami Valley Hospital for treatment, police said. He was initially listed in critical condition Saturday, but is now in stable condition, according to investigators.

Witnesses later identified the shooter to officers as Talicia A. Dixon, 27, of Xenia. A warrant for Dixon’s arrest has been issued on a charge of felonious assault, police said.
