WATCH: Body cam footage shows officer jump into action after Miami Twp. apartment catches fire

MIAMI TOWNSHIP — Newly released body cam footage shows a Miami Township police officer jump into action after an apartment caught fire last week.

Miami Twp. police responded to the fire at an apartment complex on Friday. When officers arrived on scene, they saw thick black smoke coming from a lower apartment, the police department said in a Facebook post.

“Officers acted quickly and started evacuating the nearby apartments,” the post said. “Officer McIntosh bravely entered the apartment and was able to put out the fire to prevent it from spreading.”

Details on how the fire started weren’t immediately available.
