CLEVELAND — Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce had a less than stellar first pitch at the Cleveland Guardians home opener Friday afternoon.
The two-time Super Bowl champion and Cleveland Heights native was accompanied to the mound by his mother, Donna, before throwing the ceremonial first pitch to Guardians’ pitcher Shane Bieber.

After the windup, Kelce’s pitch spiked to the ground before even reaching home plate.
Almost immediately after seeing the ball spike and take a gnarly bounce, Kelce sprinted to check on Bieber who quickly moved to get of the way.
