HONOLULU — Videos of Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano eruption have begun to emerge.
The videos show how the volcano's eruption is wreaking havoc on the Big Island —a lava fissure opening, a neighborhood threatened by erupting lava and lava bubbling up as it moves down a roadway.

Drone footage shot by Jeremiah Osuna captured the fissure opening along a line of trees.

“It sounded like if you were to put a bunch of rocks into a dryer and turn it on as high as you could. You could just smell sulfur and burning trees and underbrush and stuff,” he told Honolulu television station KHON, according to the Associated Press.

Evacuations have been ordered for about 1,500 residents.
