KETTERING — Kettering City Schools has provided an update after water at a fieldhouse tested positive for Legionella and left dozens of people sick.
News Center 7 previously reported that the district received test results on June 17 that showed Legionella in all water sources at the Fieldhouse at Roush Stadium
More than 36 student-athletes self-reported feeling ill since last month, the district previously told News Center 7.
In a letter sent to parents Tuesday, the district said samples taken from the water bottle filler at the fieldhouse were negative for Legionella.
The district said although the cultural analysis was negative they are still taking precautions such as hyper-chlorinating and installing bacterial filters on the water bottle filter and ice machine in the fieldhouse.
The sinks and showers in the field house will be out of order until the district said they receive the results of follow-up samples.
