WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium finds Celina boy who donated money

UPDATE @ 11:15 a.m. (Sept. 23):

The young boy who wrote a note and donated to the WAVE Foundation at the Newport Aquarium has been found.

According to the Foundation, Tyler’s teacher recognized his signature on the letter.

Tyler, a second grader, visited the Newport Aquarium over the summer and wanted to help the animals.

His family would like to remain anonymous, but shared how proud they are of him.

Tyler “thinks it’s so cool” how excited people were about his donation, and decided to donate the matched $5,000 towards the African Penguin Conservation.

FIRST REPORT (Sept. 20):

The WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium is searching for a young boy who recently donated to help the animals.

The foundation received a handwritten note and a $5 bill from the boy named Tyler.

The note read, “I am donate my money to help your animals. It may not be much but I want to help.”

The letter didn’t have a return address, just a ZIP code, and the foundation is now searching for Tyler to thank him for his donation.

The foundation also said they will be matching Tyler’s $5 donation with a $5,000 donation to support shark, African penguin, or sea turtle conservation.
