Wawa laid out plans Tuesday for the chain’s first location in the Miami Valley.

Some are excited to welcome Wawa to town, and others are not so sure.

“There’s too much everything in Huber Heights,” said Mabel Sylvain.

Sheetz, Buc-ee’s, and now Wawa, all either in or on their way to Huber Heights.

News Center 7 asked Huber Heights Vice Mayor Don Webb if there can be too many gas stations in the city.

“Ordinarily I would say you can get a market saturation at some point. Obviously, here in Huber Heights, we’re not there yet, because each one of these different brands that you’ve mentioned brings something very unique to the community,” Webb said.

That’s what Wawa is focused on, making their unique mark in the Dayton area even as their competitors move in too.

“We see the excitement. We love the people, and we just think we have an opportunity to serve here, and we want to take advantage of what we think is a compelling and special offer to be able to serve the folks here as growth continues in the market,” said Joseph Collins, Director of Store Operations.

Some people News Center 7 talked to see these new gas stations from different sides.

“It’s too much cluster right now, but I’m just one person one person,” Sylvain said.

Better opportunities and all that good stuff, so I like it,” said Junior Jean-Louis.
