WEEKEND WINTER STORM: DP&L ‘prepared’ ahead of complicated storm forecast

DAYTON — Dayton Power & Light is prepared as the region braces for another significant winter storm that will bring snow, ice, rain and wind to the area, according to a spokesperson.

With the forecast calling for 10 inches of snow in some spots and some ice mixing in, DP&L is concerned about the possibility of power outages across its service area, the spokesperson said.

The power provider is urging customers to have a storm kit ready in the event power is lost to their homes.

A storm kit should contain the following items:

  • Battery operated radio
  • Bottled water
  • Non-perishable foods
  • Blankets
  • Flashlights with batteries
  • Extra batteries
  • Coats, hats and gloves
