This vote also approved a zoning change. Zaxby’s and E+O Kitchen will be built in a space originally zoned for a hotel, according to township records.

The Liberty Township location will sit on 1.2 acres of land, seat up to 56 people, and have a drive-thru.

Zaxby’s is known for its chicken “fingerz,” fries, and sauces.

The company was founded in Statesboro, Georgia in 1990. There are currently more than 600 locations across southern and southeastern states, according to its website.

There are no Zaxby’s locations in Ohio, but its website indicates there is “high availability” for franchise opportunities.

“Zaxby’s has a presence in Ohio, or stores under development, but there are opportunities for growth available,” the website said.

It is unclear when construction will begin. News Center 7 has reached out to Zaxby’s for more information.

We will continue to follow this story.
